MRA T&D EVENTS
MRA Townsville and Districts have a couple of main events each year. The 'Stinger Rally' is the first which is held around mid May and is great weekend at Mt Fox Lions Club camping ground, Mt Fox. There is plenty of room for camping and the food and drink is catered for by the Mt Fox Lions Club. This years was a great success again and many thanks to all who came along and supported the fund raiser. When we get a hold of the pictures from the couple of days there we will post them on this new web site.
The second but certainly not the least is the end of year Christmas 'Toy Run'. More information on this will be posted on the sub links on the Events tab ASAP. There are shirts available again this year and badges as well which will be for sale on the day. For more information on these please contact the AGM via email.
The 2010 route will be the same as last year's. We will muster at the Dean Street Car Park from 1.00pm. We will leave at 3.00pm and head for the Reid Park Loop to gather the group together and take off in an organised fashion. This gives the media a great opportunity to see how many of us there are.
For there we will follow the same route as last year, up Boundary Street to Dalrymple Road, to Woolcock Street to Nathan Street, to Ross River Road to Riverway Drive and all the way to the Thuringowa RSL. A link to view the route is posted on the home page and on the Toy Run page.
There is no entry fee but we would simply ask you to donate to The Salvation Army at the beginning and end of the ride. Once again they would be happy with any donation that you can give be it toys, non perishable food or money as they can all be used to bring a smile on the faces of the people who are not as fortunate as you and I and is always well received.
Well we hope to see you all there again this year and bring your friends on the ride or look out for the entourage. The pictures of the Toy Run will be posted on site as well shortly after the event so keep an eye out.
