About us
What Is The MRA?
The Motorcycle Riders' Association is an Australia-wide organisation, established in Victoria during 1978. We promote motorcycling and work in conjunction with the authorities, primarily to reduce the numbers of riders being needlessly injured and killed on our roads.
What Do We Do?
The T&D MRA's primary objective is to lobby within the community and at all levels of government for the establishment of a Driver Education and Motorsport facility within the greater area of the city of Townsville.
The aims of T&D MRA are:
- To promote road safety,
- To promote a better image for motorcycling,
- To work for a fair and sensible legislation,
- To participate in charitable and community service activities.
The T&D MRA aims to actively promote road safety issues, including providing commentary on media articles relating to motorcycles, scooters and road safety.
T&D MRA supports responsible, safe, yet enjoyable riding practices, and encourages motorcycle and scooter riders to participate in advanced rider training and track days to safely develop their skills and experience off public roads.
Social Functions are an important part of the MRA, day rides to interesting places, weekend camping trips away, BBQs, Poker Runs, plus other social activities are organised on a regular basis. Annual functions are also organised, ie: the Toy Run, Blood Runs, Stinger Rally etc. The MRA supports Rider Training Programs.
